Saturday, December 9th, 2017
2 Miles – 3:00 pm – New Orleans City Park
We all seem to be doing a lot of running around during the holidays. So, in honor of all of that running, let’s have a holiday fun run! The Celebration in the Oaks Run/Walk gives locals the chance to participate in one of the most festive holiday events in the country! This 2-mile course takes participants through New Orleans City Park during their annual Celebration in the Oaks Light Display, when the park is decorated with over 500,000 lights! The day is filled with hot cocoa, pictures with Santa, a holiday costume contest, and much more!
Celebration in the Oaks Run/Walk race, which begins in the late afternoon, is very popular for families. Many of the participants bring the strollers and even children right by their side. After the race, participants can enjoy free refreshments and complimentary entry into the walking tour of the beautifully decorated Botanical Garden, Storyland and Carousel Gardens, before the gates are open to the general public!
River Parish Disposal is exciting to be a part of the Celebration in the Oaks Run/Walk. We will be providing Dumpsters, Portable Toilets, Handwashing Stations, disposable boxes, and clean up crew. Can’t wait to see everyone at the finish line!
Don’t forget about the Celebration in the Oaks. City Park’s famous oaks are decorated in hundreds of thousands of twinkling lights and breathtaking light displays are scattered throughout 25 acres of the Park, including the Botanical Garden, Storyland, and Carousel Gardens Amusement Park.
