Girls On The Run 5K
Join us on April 21st, 2018, as Girls on the Run cross the finish line! But, this in not just any 5k race, there is entertainment and fun throughout the course. Dancing krewes will be stationed around the course to cheer on the runners. This race encourages participants and supporters to run, skip, and yes hop to the finish line! Plus, there will be lots of great food at the Pre and Post Girls On The Run 5K celebrations including a photo booth, face painting, and a Happy Hair spraying stations.
Schedule:
Girls On the Run will take place on April 21, 2018, at Audubon Park Shelter #10 with registration opening at 7:00am. The 5k will start at 8:00am along with the Wellness fair and Post 5K celebrations.

About Girls On The Run:
Girls on the Run is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization dedicated to creating a world where every girl knows and activates her limitless potential and is free to boldly pursue her dreams.
Girls on the Run New Orleans (GOTR NOLA) began with a steering committee of ten women who shared a vision of providing the young girls in our community with an opportunity to grow, learn and make healthy decisions through the Girls on the Run program. The small committee raised the required Girls on the Run International council start-up fee of $7,000 and began the planning process to start programming in the Fall of 2010.
Our track record of success is captured in the growth of our program. In our first year GOTR NOLA launched in the fall of 2010 with two sites serving 22 participants. In the fall of 2014 we served 391 girls in 24 sites. Our fourth year represented our highest growth rate yet, more than tripling our site locations and program participants. Celebrating our 8th year, we will proudly serve over 1000 girls at 40+ sites throughout Fall 2017 and Spring 2018 seasons.

River Parish Disposal:
We are so excited to be working with this great group for a wonderful cause. River Parish Disposal will supply portable toilets and disposable trash boxes for the Girls On the Run 5K. We will see you at the finish line!
