New Orleans Down Syndrome Buddy Walk
Come and join us for the New Orleans Down Syndrome Buddy Walk on October 6 starting at 9 a.m.. The Buddy Walk is a family fun event and fundraiser designed to celebrate individuals with Down syndrome. We will have a jambalaya cook-off, live music, dozens of games, an awesome silent auction, crafts, snacks, and so much more. Down Syndrome Association of Greater New Orleans is organizing the event.

What You Need To Know
• Online registration and your fundraising contest will end at midnight on Wednesday, October 3, 2018.
• For registrants and donors paying by check, checks need to reach DSAGNO by Wednesday, October 3rd to count toward the contest.
• If your team reaches at least Gold Team Level you will be provided at 10 X 10 tent. Otherwise, you and your team members are allowed to bring pop up tents but you must bring the necessary gear to hold in place – If the day is windy, please know that you may have to take it down.
• There will be a designated area for tents and chairs that are brought into the event by participants. No tents can be placed in the main area. Signs will be placed to indicate the area designated for personal tents.
• Please remind your team not to stop along the walk to take pictures. Please take pictures, both individually and as a group either before or after the actual walk.
• Festivities begin at 9 am.
• If you have corporate sponsors that would like for us to mail their wristbands to them, please send an email to info@dsagno.org and give us the name of the company. If you would prefer that we mail them to you to deliver, please let us know. Otherwise, the wristbands can be picked up at the pre-registration table on Saturday.

About the Buddy Walk
Buddy Walk was established in 1995 by the National Down Syndrome Society (NDSS) to promote acceptance and inclusion of people with Down syndrome The event has grown from 17 walks in 1995 to another record breaking year in 2017 with more than 330,000 participants, raising nearly $14.2 million dollars in more than 250 events across the country and around the world.
If You Would Like To Volunteer
Students needing service hours and corporate group volunteers welcome! We will need many volunteers to have a successful walk. If you are not on a team or do not plan on participating in the walk, please consider volunteering your time. To learn more about volunteering click here. Volunteer time will count toward being eligible for a stipend to attend the 2019 National Down Syndrome Congress conference.
