Humans…it is time to go home and ask your pet if they will bring you to the party “Where Pets Bring their People” at Pet Fest in Lafreniere Park.
The Pet Fest features a Pet Adopt-A-Thon with 40 Shelter/Rescue groups offering over 400 adoptable pets, a Pet Health Watch area, FREE Pet Costume Contest with amazing prizes, Pet Marketplace, Delicious Local Cuisine, Great Music and much more. Last year over 21,000 attended the festival and hundreds of pets found new homes.
Festival goers are invited to come dressed with the four-legged companions and register to compete in the Pet Costume Contest. The theme this year is “Barks and Recreation” which is a play on Parks and Recreation. Animal advocate Angela Hill and Louisiana Lieutenant Governor Billy Nungesser will be among the celebrity judges for the costume contest last year.
