What You Need To Know
Friday evening, July 12 – El Txupinazo: The official opening of #SFNO 2019 is pronounced choo-pin-AHT-so. Beth’s Friends Forever (BFF) will host this event at The Sugar Mill (1021 Covention Center Blvd). This year’s event will feature food from Apolline, Atchafalaya, Bacchanal, Commander’s Palace, Sobou and Tavolino. It will also feature a silent auction where 100% of the proceeds go to BFF! Saturday morning, August 24th- Encierro and Post Encierro Fiesta presented by Port Orleans Brewing Company: SFNO revelers begin gathering near the starting line during the wee hours of Friday night. But the crowd builds in earnest at 6:30 AM when the festival bars open. The Procession of San Fermin kicks off the morning and an invocation precedes the Running of the Bulls at 8 AM SHARP! This is a ticketed only event. There will be live music, beer, sangria and food trucks on site! Please know that supporting the event is only possible by registering and joining the official party. Special Music Guest MORNING 40 FEDERATION.
Saturday afternoon/evening, August 24th – La Fiesta de Pantalones: This year’s location has yet to be determined. La Fiesta de Pantalones is always a great way to wind down after the madness of the Post Encierro Fiesta!
Sunday early afternoon, August 25th – El Pobre de Mi: close out #SFNO 2019 at with Ernest Hemingway-inspired burlesque, contests, food and yes, more cocktails. We will be returning to Lula Restaurant Distillery (1532 St. Charles Ave.) There is no cover for this event, but you pay as you go.
CHARITIES for SFNO 2019:
In 2014 Nola Bulls cofounder Beth Hanning was diagnosed with Stage IIB (2B) Breast Cancer. Following treatment and surgery Beth’s Friends Forever (BFF NOLA, Inc) was formed to raise money to supplement the resources of financially needy women fighting cancer in the Greater New Orleans area.
