THINGS TO DO IN NEW ORLEANS FOR NEW YEAR’S 2018

With the so many visitors in town for New Years and the Allstate Sugar Bowl on January 2nd, it’s important to make your plans and reservations early so that you don’t miss out on all of the fun. Here are a few ideas as to where to go and what to do to ring in the Tricentennial of New Orleans:

FOR THE YOUNG:

Zoo Year’s Eve

The Audubon Zoo is hosting a kid-friendly New Year’s celebration on New Year’s Eve from 10:30am to 12:30pm! Music, games, prizes, and a countdown to Noon are the highlights of the day. This event is included in the price of admission and free with an Audubon Institute membership.

Louisiana Children’s Museum New Year’s Eve Countdown

As another great event to ring in 2018, the Louisiana Children’s Museum is offering a family-friendly play date filled with music, arts & crafts, and a New Year’s countdown. The event lasts from 9:30 a.m. until 2:30 p.m. Tickets are available at the museum for $10 per person.

FOR THE YOUNG AT HEART:

New Year’s Eve at the Jaxson

Souled Out will provide the musical entertainment while you enjoy a gourmet cocktail buffet, an open premium bar, and a fabulous view of the fireworks over the Mississippi River from the Riverfront Terrace. You will enjoy guaranteed seating, a champagne toast at midnight, and souvenir party favors. The celebration begins at 9pm on December 31st and ends at 1am on January 1st. Tickets are $185 per person.

Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve

The concert will begin at 9pm. The Fleur de Lis Drop in Jackson Square will count down the new year and a huge fireworks display over the Mississippi River will dazzle the eyes at midnight. Free and open to the public.
